Roy James Lohden passed away at 70 years of age on February 18, 2011. He was born in Lane, Oklahoma in a log cabin with a dirt floor.   Roy graduated from Sunset High School and then attended Cisco Jr. College before finishing at the University of Texas at Arlington. Before completing his education, he married and started his family while working at Lone Star Gas Company. It wasn't long after working there that fate started him on a journey that created Dallas Demolition. Through his work ethic, Roy was able to carve out and clear countless structures throughout North Texas.

He was known for many larger than life projects in the area. Roy brought down the Saturn Missile Tower, the Mayfair Hotel, the Gibraltar Building, the Navarro Hotel, Northpark III, the Holiday Inn at Meadow, First Citizen's Bank (Tyler, TX) and most recently the eight structures at First Baptist Church, 5 of which were imploded, just to name a few.
